About Jackie

Hi! My name is Jackie Urcheck. I have been quilting for over sixteen years. I started with hand quilting and quickly moved to machine quilting to expedite finished projects. I started long arm quilting over three years ago and in May of 2006 upgraded by machine to a Gammill Optimum with the Statler Stitcher computer software. I love making quilts come alive by adding beautiful edge-to-edge designs to them or by customizing patterns to beautify your quilts.

I come from a family of quilters. I have four older sisters and all but one are quilters. We try to attend as many quilting events that we can and spend time together doing what we enjoy. Even though we have not been able to convert our one sister to quilting, she does join us for some quilting events and trips. She has her own wonderful hobby making stained glass items. She makes us beautiful stained glass pieces so we forgive her for not being a quilter. We also have one brother, and he isn't a quilter either. He has his own hobby of making beautiful items out of wood, so we forgive him for not being a quilter too!

I have been married for 20 years to my dear husband, Pete. He doesn't quilt either, but he does oversee all the maintenace on my machine. He also helps me out at the store on Saturdays and whenever I need his help. We have been blessed with one child, who is attending his first year of college.
